  5.  This issue is a special one.  It is

  7. dedicated to musical software for the

  9. Commodore-64.  We all know that the
  10.  
  11. C-64 has some GREAT potential when
  12.  
  13. it comes to making music.  The SID
  14.  
  15. chip is more complex than some TRUE
  16.             <f5 for more>
  17. synthesizers.   The possibilities of
  18.  
  19. the SID chip are practically
  20.  
  21. limitless.  The problem comes when
  22.  
  23. trying to tap into those capabilities.
  24.  
  25. If you've tried to use a reference
  26.  
  27. guide to write music, you know what a
  28.  
  29. chore it can be. All of those PEEKs
  30.  
  31. and POKEs can drive a person bonkers!
  32.  
  33. This is why music systems were
  34.  
  35. developed.  Musical systems attempt to
  36.  
  37. make the chore of creating music less
  38.  
  39. tedious by having the program and
  40.  
  41. computer do most of the work while you
  42.  
  43. sit back and twiddle your joystick.

  45.   The purpose of this issue is to

  47. give you, the buyer, some insight into

  49. the workings of the more popular music
  50.  
  51. composing systems on the markey today.

  89. based upon these facts, you will be

  91. able to decide which system best fits

  93. your needs.
